Stoic Guided Meditation for Expanding Wisdom

Take a few minutes to reset and reframe the stoic virtue of wisdom

Click above to listen right now! Wisdom is not found in the books you’ve read or the philosophies you can recite. It lives in the choices you make when no one is watching, in the words you speak when it would be easier to stay silent, in the patience you summon when every impulse screams otherwise. True wisdom is not a credential to display—it is a practice to embody.

The book How to Think Like Socrates, by Donald Robertson is a great book to help learn about wisdom in action.

This practice is not “against” others or even against yourself. Wisdom is always for the truth. It seeks what is real, what is just, what is aligned with the nature of things. When we act in service of truth rather than ego, fear, or convenience, we tap into something ancient and powerful.

To embody and take action on the truth as we know it—from a place of compassion rather than rigidity—is one of the most beautiful things we can do for ourselves and those we love. This is not about being perfect or always getting it right. It’s about showing up again and again, aligning your actions with what you know to be true and good.

Keep in mind, I am not encouraging you to not read. But beyond the books, one must take a nature walk into themselves. Doing this regularly will build your confidence within. Having it within heightens its potential outward expression.

As the Stoic philosopher Epictetus taught: “Don’t explain your philosophy. Embody it.” This guided meditation will help you do exactly that—moving wisdom from concept to practice, from understanding to action, so you can trust yourself more deeply and live with greater integrity.

PRO TIP: Go to your setting and TURN OFF AUTO PLAY. That way when the meditation finishes you don’t get immediately thrown into a new conversation.
