What Are the Mental Health Benefits of Cold Exposure for Men?

A look at Wim Hof and beyond with Ice Bath Expert and breath work teacher Matt Robinson

I met Matt Robinson in the United Kingdom at a mens mental health retreat. He was teaching ice bath breathwork. We quickly became cool and later he taught an online breathwork clinic for a special Resilient Men’s Group online session.

Matt Robinson is truly one of a kind. His journey is unique, and his understanding is deeply authentic. I’m happy to share this with you as June is Men’s Mental Health Month. I promise to have him back on soon, because as much as we covered, there still much more to discuss. I encourage you to follow him, and if you can ever get a session with him DO IT!

There is also a section where I talk about my years practicing Tibetan yoga, aka Yantra yoga (I STILL own this on VHS!). The Tibetan legacy with breath work and ice related practices in the snow predate the work of Wim Hof since about the 8th century. This is in no way a negation of Wim Hof or his innovations. Just giving some cultural and historical context to the modern trend in the west.
